How do I store premium-quality chocolate?
When chocolate is kept at a consistent temperature between 15°C and 18°C, and at a humidity of less than 55%, the emulsion of cocoa solids and cocoa butter will stay stable for months.
Remember that cocoa butter (the vegetable fat in chocolate) picks up the smell of whatever’s around it. Store opened packets in sealed containers.
Chocolate Indulgence products have a twelve-month shelf life from the date of manufacture.
Premium quality chocolates can be affected by heat during transit in hot weather. We take precautions to ensure that your chocolates arrive safely, but we cannot guarantee that they will not melt or bloom. Please be aware that they are at a higher risk of melting in hot weather. By purchasing chocolates during warmer weather, you acknowledge and accept this risk.
In hot weather, we usually ship our chocolate wrapped in metallic, heat-reflecting silver foil packed in a cardboard box to minimise heat damage and minimise the effect of heat damage during transportation.
Before despatching, we always check the temperature at our location and the delivery location on the estimated delivery date and decide the best delivery option.
We use a highly visible label on the box stating "FOOD PRODUCTS - KEEP AWAY FROM HEAT."
Regrettably, world cocoa prices have increased dramatically, and chocolate prices have increased across the board, especially dark chocolate, which normally has a much higher cocoa component than milk chocolate. We have no control over the cocoa price.
